Main feature

Your music. Your library. Your automatic DJ. Select a folder, press PLAY, and let KeyGroove build a continuous session from your tracks.

Music Brain: making musical choices

The music decision system compares the rhythm, key, energy, and structure of tracks. It looks for compatible combinations and decides which track comes in, where it starts, and which transition to use.

Analysis for better mixes

BPM indicates the tempo. BeatGrid locates the beats, and PhraseGrid helps identify musical phrases. Together with analysis of harmony, energy, and frequencies, they help find natural points to transition between tracks.

Two decks, one continuous session

While Deck A is playing, KeyGroove can prepare the next track on Deck B. During a mix, both tracks play with independent volume, EQ, and tempo adjustments when the technique calls for them.

Preparing the next move

The app evaluates possible tracks and prepares entry and exit points in advance. The aim is to leave enough time to complete the transition before the current track ends.

Variety that keeps the music flowing

When two options fit equally well, less-played tracks have a slight advantage. Musical compatibility remains the priority, and AutoDJ tries to give each track enough listening time.

Additional features

Let AutoDJ take over, or step in whenever you want. These tools let you shape the session, review your tracks, and save the result.

26 transition families

Enable your favorite techniques, turn others off, or request one for the next mix. KeyGroove combines blending techniques, creative tools, and surprise transitions to suit the musical context.

  • Extended blending: Sustained EQ Blend / Bass Swap balances the bass between tracks so they can play together for longer.
  • Creative bridges: Filter Sweep, Echo Bridge, and Loop Bridge connect tracks using filters, echoes, or rhythmic loops.
  • Surprise transitions: Scratch Cut, Tape Stop, and Reverse Tail add occasional twists; AutoDJ tries to space them out with regular mixes.

Set the mood of your session

Choose Calm, Normal, Energetic, or Hard to guide the intensity. These profiles adjust selection preferences among musically compatible options.

Step in whenever you want

Change the next track, dismiss a suggestion, or use Mix now and Go to mix. You can choose a technique and, where supported, structures of 8, 16, or 32 bars.

BPM Lab: check the beat

Check the tempo and beat positions by sight and sound. Use TAP to set a reference, correct the beat grid, and keep your manual checks.

Record what you hear

Capture audio alone or a screen recording with the sound of the mix. In PCM + Oboe mode, recording captures fades, EQ, and effects directly, without using the microphone as the audio source.

Rate each transition

Tell us which mixes you like or what problems you noticed. Ratings can be linked to the tracks, technique, and context to help review musical decisions.

Possible future addition: shared learning

An optional system for sharing ratings and technical transition data is being considered. This is a future possibility, not a confirmed current feature; participation is not required to use local AutoDJ.

On Android

Your own library and an interface designed for different Android screen sizes, with music information and controls within reach.

Your files and folders

Use the MP3 and FLAC files stored on your device. Android lets you grant access to the Music folder and its subfolders; your tracks remain files you can organize and copy.

Music works offline, too

Playback, music analysis, and local AutoDJ can work without an internet connection. They do not depend on your tracks being available in a streaming catalog.

Phones, tablets, and car displays

The interface adapts to different screen formats, including Android displays in vehicles. On wide landscape screens, it can use the extra space for larger discs and a clearer layout of music information.

Controls and information within reach

View cover art, waveforms, BPM, key, and energy. You can hide information rows and use Bluetooth, car, and Android media controls; Previous and Next offer configurable behavior.

Take your analysis with your music

When copying your tracks, you can also take their hidden .keygroove folders. The app reuses valid analysis on another device and makes use of existing information when you add new music.

A visual music library

Cover art embedded in your files appears on the decks and in the library. KeyGroove also includes tools to find missing artwork.

Fine-tune the sound

The main equalizer lets you tailor playback to your device, headphones, or preferences. During playback, analysis tasks can reduce their workload to give audio priority.
